Sons of the American Legion (SAL)

Post 163 does have a charter for a SAL Squadron in Alturas, unfortunately it never really managed to get fully established, we want to change that. 

We are in the process of trying to get the word out about who and what SAL is and hope to have an organizational meeting late summer/early fall to elect officers and start moving forward with this great organization.

SAL is open to all male descendants (biolgical, adopted and/or step) of members of the American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who died in service during WWI, or during from Dec 7, 1941 - present, as well as honorably discharged veterans who have died subsequently to their discharge from service.

Females are able to join the American Legion Auxillary, but not SAL. Unfortunately, we currently do not have an A.L. Aux in our community. We will again one day, but we can only do so much at once without risking failure of all.
